Vaishno Devi is one of the most visited Hindu pilgrimage in India. Vaishno Devi is believed to be the bestower of strength to the weak, sight to the blind, wealth to the poor and children to childless couples. The shrine is beautifully covered with snow and makes for a heart-warming sight.
It is located in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir at a height of 5200 feet. The small town of Katra serves as the base camp for Vaishno Devi. It is located 50 kms away from Jammu, the nearest airport and railway station. Devotees are required to trek about 12 kms from the base camp of Katra. The route is dotted with shops selling souvenirs and devotional music with pleasant views all along. While most of the pilgrims choose to walk and some prefer to hire helicopters, there are Palkis and horse rides also available, for the convenience of elderly, unwell and physically unfit devotees.

1. By Air (fastest route): Hire a taxi to Indira Gandhi International Airport > on board a flight to Jammu and hire a taxi to Katra and then trek to vaishno devi temple.
2. By Bus (cheapest route): Take an auto to Delhi bus stop, catch a bus to Katra and trek to the temple.
3. By Train: Hire an auto/taxi to New Delhi Railway Station > board a train to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station > hire taxi to proceed further.
4. By Car: Go for self drive or hire a taxi from Delhi to Vaishno Devi Temple. It is a 666 km travel and takes 12.5 hours to reach.
